B. Scott Hines
B. Scott Hines has 37 years of diversified oil and gas experience. Joining Exxon Company USA as a maintenance specialist in November 1975, Scott worked his way up the company ladder, working as a drilling superintendent and senior field foreman (Production Operations). He was assigned to the Sub Surface Engineering group in 1989. Scott left Exxon in May 1992 to return to college to complete his degree. He graduated from Texas A&I University–Kingsville in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Gas Engineering. In 1998 Scott formed Aurora Resources Corporation. Today Aurora Resources Corporation is a complete oil and gas operating company. Aurora provides operating, engineering and consulting services to a select group of clients and investors with operations throughout South Texas and along the Texas Gulf Coast. Scott has extensive experience in all of the Gulf Coast geological formations.
David G. Kinard is Chief Operating Officer at Aurora Resources Corporation. David has over 17 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including eight years in South Texas. Operationally, David started his career by working for a handful of service companies. His first assignment was driving a frac pump while working in the trying conditions of Wyoming during the winter. From there he progressed to supervising crews out of southern Louisiana working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. David advanced to managing districts and then regions. Switching to the operator side of the business in 2005, he served as vice president of production/management for another independent South Texas oil and gas company prior to coming over to Aurora. David has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from The Ohio State University.
Senior Operations Engineer
Justin has over twelve years of oil and gas operations experience. Justin started his career with Baker Hughes Pumping Services (formerly B. J. Services Co.) in October 2000. He began as a frac field engineer in Alice, Texas, and after two years was promoted to Region Engineer based in Corpus Christi. In 2005 Justin left BJS and went to work for R. W. Dirks Petroleum Engineering in Tuleta, Texas. Justin continued to broaden his experience with additional responsibilities including drilling, completion, and production engineering. In 2008 he left RWDPE and joined Aurora Resources Corporation, assuming similar responsibilities. In his twelve years, Justin has fracture-stimulated over one thousand wells in South Texas, including recent Eagle Ford Shale completions. He currently leads Aurora’s drilling and completion operation using progressive cavity pumps in a shallow oil field in Duval County. Justin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University in May 2000.
